Meet the champions 2025

Rima Spa honoured among Italy’s top 1,000 high-performing companies by Centro Studi Italy Post for Corriere della Sera’s L’Economia

Montichiari, 21 March 2025 – Rima Spa today participated in the inaugural event of the “Meet the Champions 2025” national tour, showcasing the stories of Italy’s top 1,000 performing companies. These enterprises were selected by Centro Studi Italy Post for L’Economia – Corriere della Sera based on outstanding financial results and growth performance achieved in recent years. The event was hosted at the ComoNExT technology hub in Lomazzo, Como.

Opened by Caterina Della Torre, Project Leader for the Champions research, the event shed light on the current global economic climate, marked by stagnation within the Eurozone, shifting global economic balances, and three significant contemporary transitions: digital, energy, and demographic. Amidst this complex backdrop, Italy’s “Champion” companies distinguished themselves by their forward-thinking strategies, financial strength, and operational resilience, ranking among the top 1,000 Italian enterprises according to key performance indicators such as turnover, average CAGR, average EBITDA, ROE, net financial position, and net equity.

Romeo Faganelli, President of Rima Spa, represented the company at the event alongside fellow shareholders Alfredo Monfardini and Giorgio Zonta. Faganelli traced the company’s growth journey back to its founder, Riccardo Magri, who tragically passed away in 1985. At that time, the current shareholders, who were then employees, took a bold decision to invest in the company’s future, guiding it from a modest operation of about 20 employees to its current robust status.

A key theme discussed at the event was generational succession, a sensitive yet crucial topic for many companies. Rima Spa is proactively addressing this issue by actively and gradually integrating the founders’ children into strategic decision-making processes and operational management.

During the event, Faganelli outlined the three strategic pillars underpinning Rima Spa’s success: investments in productivity, product development, and people. The “RIMA 4.0” initiative, launched in 2017, marked a significant turning point, driving substantial investments into production logistics, automation, and digital transformation.

In terms of product innovation, the company has strongly invested in highly customised solutions and technical advancements, filing patents and introducing new products, including their recent hybrid electric/hydraulic range.

Additionally, Faganelli highlighted Rima Spa’s unwavering commitment to employee welfare, achieved through advanced welfare policies, investment in a comfortable and safe working environment, and training initiatives in collaboration with local technical institutes.

With a history spanning more than 50 years, Rima Spa’s journey exemplifies the resilience of Italy’s SMEs, successfully combining anticipatory capabilities, financial stability, and continuous innovation.
