School and career guidance: a conversation with RIMA S.p.A.

In recent weeks, we had the pleasure of meeting the 2A and 2B PSC classes from the Istituto Don Milani for a career guidance day focused on the relationship between school and the world of work.

For us, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to engage with the students, who took part with genuine interest, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the presentation.

Starting with an overview of RIMA and our work in the field of components for industrial and agricultural machinery, we guided the students through how a company really works: from customer relations and technical design to production, logistics and people management.

However, the main focus of the day was something even more important: reflecting on what truly makes the difference when entering the workplace.

During the session, we shared a simple but essential message: technical skills are developed over time, while attitude is visible from the very beginning. Punctuality, responsibility, willingness to learn, teamwork, listening skills and reliability are qualities that hold real value in a company every single day.

We also discussed the importance of self-awareness, encouraging students to think not only about the job they would like to do, but also about the kind of person and professional they want to become. There are no right or wrong jobs, only choices that are more or less conscious, built through experience, growth and attitude.

This event is part of a long-standing and highly positive relationship between RIMA and Montichiari Don Milani Institute, developed over the years through several shared projects, career guidance activities and work placement programmes. We strongly believe that continuous dialogue between schools and businesses creates real opportunities for growth, learning and professional development for young people.

A special thank you also goes to the teachers, who strongly believe in these initiatives and who often represent an invaluable but unseen resource for students. Through their daily commitment, they encourage curiosity, responsibility and awareness, supporting young people during an important stage of their personal and professional development.

Finally, we would like to thank all the students for their attention, participation and thoughtful questions during the meeting.

We will continue to promote opportunities like this, convinced that helping young people approach the world of work also means helping them better understand themselves, their attitudes and their potential.
